Washington DC Charitiy Walks

Georgetown - September 20, 2008. This 5K or 1K Walk along the historic C & O Canal will begin at the Shops at Georgetown Park, Washington, DC. Over 500 walkers are expected to attend this non-competitive event that focuses on increasing awareness about kidney disease, those at risk and the need for organ donation. The event is free and open to the public, although individual participants and teams are encouraged to raise money for National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area, which is especially important considering the Washington, DC metropolitan area has the highest prevalence of kidney disease in the United States. Washington, DC - Sunday, September 28, 2008. This 4 mile, no fee, non-competitive walk with family activities aims to raise funds for those with kidney disease, awareness for those at risk, and hope for those affected by kidney disease. The walk will begin and end at the beautiful Georgetown Waterfront. Enjoy a spectacular view of the Potomac River as you follow the scenic route along the C&O Canal Path. Enjoy food, beverages and live entertainment from Mix 107.3. A walk route of one mile is available for those who would like a shorter stroll.
